Hard to believe Nadia is already 7 month and crawling. This year has gone by so fast and my baby girl is getting big. She is doing so well. She loves playing with big sister and tries to keep up with her. She is also starting to pull herself up. It is so much fun to see them together.

This month we also got some big news from my work. We will be moving to Chicago. We are all really excited about the change and looking forward to the new journey.

Ariana is doing really well in her new classroom. She is also done with soccer for the Summer. In her last game she scored 5 goals. In her Dr. appointment Nadia weighted 15.6 lbs and was on the 50% on weight and on the 75% in height.

This month we also celebrated Nathan's birthday with pizza and ice cream cup cakes. Ariana was so excited to be at "Daddy's birthday party".

I am now six month old. It has been a fun ride. My big sister gives me lots of love and I enjoy my time with Mami and Daddy. I have started to sit by myself. Sometimes I loose my balance but for the most part I do pretty good. I am also starting to get around when I am on my Tummy, specially when I need to reach a fun toy. I have not had my official 6 month appointment yet. But according to mami's I am about 14 lbs+ and measure about 27 inches. I have starting to eat vegetables in the last couple of weeks. So far I have like them all. I am a very good eater.
My sister is doing well. She started her soccer league and it is doing well. I like to go and cheer her on.

For the 4th of July we met with Grandma and Grandpa in Michigan City Indiana for one of Daddy's friends weeding. We had lots of fun there. Here are some of my latest pictures.

It has already been 4 month since Nadia was born. They have gone by so fast. The last month we have had a lot of fun and full of events. First, I went back to work and abuela came to take care of Nadia. I also did my first race after pregnancy. Ariana aslo did the family race. We celebrated our first easter and had fun doing the easter egg hunt at home. I celebrated my 32nd birthday and Mother's day. They were both very special.
Nadia had her 4 month Dr. appointment, she did great and is very healthy. She has reach all her milestones. She loves to talk and let everyone know how she feels. She is a very happy baby.

Nadia had her two month check up a little earlier because we wanted to get the shots done in advance of traveling to Panama.

The Dr. said she is doing really well. She weighted 10 lbs and measure 21.25 inches. That puts her in the 50% for weight and 25% for height.

Nadia is also sleeping thru the nigth for the last two weeks. She is a very good baby. Yesterday she also rolled over from tummy to back.

So far Ariana is going great as a big sister and continue to grow up so much. She is becoming a great helper and enjoys playing with her little sister.

Nadia is already one month old. She weights 10 lbs and it is doing really well. She does not have a Dr. appointment this month since she did so well at her first Dr. appointment.
So far she is a very calm baby and it is doing great sleeping at night. In fact, last night she slept 8 hrs.
She also took her first bottle and did really well.

The last 3 years have gone by really fast. Our little girl is now 3 and a big sister. We have been blessed with two wonderful and healthy girls.
To celebrate Ariana's birthday we had a party at the Little Gym. She had so much fun with all her friends.
Ariana also had her 3 year appointment. She is doing really well. 80 % on Height (38.5 in) and 60% on weight (31 lbs).
This week also Nadia turned 3 weeks of age. So far she is great little baby. She likes to sleep a lot and usually wakes up just to eat and maybe play a little. At night she is sleeping OK. Usually wakes up every 3 to 4 hours.

She weight 7.7 lbs and measure 19.25 inches. Both Grandma's were here when she was born.

We are all excited to have her join our family.

The last three month have gone by so fast. I can't believe I only have 6 more weeks to go before we meet our little girl. We are excited and ready to welcome her. Ariana is excited to become a little sister. I am sure she is going to do great.

This pregnancy has been different from the first one. Nadia seems to be more calm than Ariana ever was. She moves more thru out the day, but her movements are more gentle.

Ariana has moved into her big girl room and has done great. She can not put herself to sleep and it is becoming quite independent. I can't believe how fast my little girl is growing up. Her favorite things to do now are to dress up as a princess, play with blocks, take care of her dolls, and go to the play ground.

This pregnancy has gone by so fast. I know I have not been as good keeping up with the blog in a long time, but I will try to make and effort from now on.

I am currently finishing my 21 weeks of pregnancy. This time around has been a lot more demanding than the first time. The first three month were thought between the nauseas and tiredness. Luckly, now I am feeling much better.

Ariana has really embraze knowing that she is going to be a big sister. We took her with us to the ultrasound so she was right there to find out with us the sex.

The summer is almost gone and we are starting to ge a couple of nicer and cool days. It mays everything much better. I love the fall weather and love being able to play outside.

2010 Quick update/2010 en resumen

2010 has been very busy so far. Ariana moved to the bigger kids room in April. Potty training started right away in the new room. So far it is going pretty well with a couple set backs.

Ariana's favorite thing to do on the mornings is to come and get into Mommy and Daddy's bed.
She has also master running. We get to go on walk/runs during the weekend. She is mommy stays in shape.

Ariana is talking a storm. She is pretty fluent in both Spanish and English. Altough, she uses English most of the time.

We are getting ready for the hotter part of the summer...So pool time has become a regular outting for the family. Enjoy the pictures....

Sorry it has been such a long time since I updated the blog. The last couple of month have gone by so quick.
Ariana is now 21 month and growing very fast. She is quite the talker and loves to play and dance. She also loves to Skipe with her Grandparents.

She is now talking a lot. It is a mix of English and Spanish. She is also able to count to 5 in both language and it is starting to learn her ABCs.

So far we have been blessed and she is a very healthy girl. We are crossing our fingers so it continues during the winter.

We are getting ready for Christmas and the Holiday time. We had a great Thanksgiving with the Price Family. It was great to see everyone. Ariana had a great time.

Ha pasado mucho tiempo desde la ultima vez que escribi en el blog. Los ultimos meses hemos estado bastante ocupados y han pasado tan rapido.

Ariana ya tiene 21 meses y sigue creciendo bien rapido. Le gusta hablar bastante y tambien jugar y bailar. Tambien le gusta hablar con los abuelos por Skipe.

Ariana esta hablando bastante. Por ahora es una mezcla de Ingles y Espanol. Tambien puede contar hasta 5 en los dos idiomas y se esta aprendiendo su abecedario.

Por ahora estamos bendecidos y Ariana es una nina saludable. Esperemos que no se enferme durante el invierno.

Por ahora nos estamos preparando para Navidad y el tiempo en familia. Para el dia de accion de gracia estuvimos con la familia Price y la pasamos muy bien.

18 months and growing/18 meses y creciendo

Ariana's 18 month appointment went really well. She is a healthy little girl. Her weight was 24 lbs and her height 32.75 inches. So she was in the 50% for weight and 65% for height.

The doctor was really please with everything she is doing developmental wise.

She is growing up to be a very opinionated but very polite girl. She always says "Thank you", "Hi" and "bye bye. By now she knows around 25 different words some in english and other in Spanish.

En la cita de los 18 meses de Ariana todo estaba muy bien. Ella es una nina sana gracias a Dios. Su peso fue 24 lb y su altura 32.75 pulgadas. Ella esta en el 50% de peso y 65% de altura. La doctora estaba muy contenta con el desarrollo de Ariana.

Ella esta creciendo y convirtiendose en una nina con muy buenos modales y sus propias opiniones. Siempre dice "Gracias", "Hola" y "Adios". Por ahora se sabe como 25 palabras diferentes algunas en ingles y otras en espanol.

Wow! Its been a jam packed week of fun. Mommy was out on business for a few days this week, so I had fun at daycare and playing with Daddy after work. Daddy finally got my new tricycle out. I'm starting to learn how to ride it. It's a lot of fun, but I get frustrated with it sometimes when it won't turn the way I think it should turn. I'll teach it a lesson one of these days!

Esta semana estuvo lleno de eventos. Mi mami estubo de viaje de negocios esta semana, mientras tanto yo me diverti en la guarderia y con mi papa despues del trabajo. Papi finalmente armo mi triciclo. Yo estoy aprendiendo a usarlo. Me gusta mucho aunque a veces me frusto porque no gira hacia donde yo quiero. Ya vera quien es la jefa ese triciclo.

My daycare teachers held a family fun day this Saturday. Mommy and Daddy took me, so I could see some of my teachers over the weekend. I felt like a rock star when they put me down so I could walk around the place. Everyone started yelling my name and coming over to see me. My favorite part was the big blow up slide. I'm still not big enough to go down myself, but I had plenty of people to help.

Mis maestras de la guarderia organizaron un dia familiar este Sabado. Mi mama y papa me llevaron para que viera a mis maestras. Cuando llegue me senti como artista de novela, camine por todo lados. Todas las maestras gritaban mi nombre y me venian a ver. Lo mejor de la tarde fue el surra surra inflable. No pude hacerlo sola pero tube suficiente ayuda para surrarme.

After the family fun day I went home to take a good, long nap. Then, when I woke up we went tailgating for a baseball game. Colgate sponsored a tailgate, so we played games and ate hamburgers. It was very hot, but it was a lot of fun. I got excited about watching the baseball game for oh....2 minutes. Then, I wanted to climb up and down the stairs...in and out of my seat...pretty much anything but watch the game. Mommy and Daddy decided to leave after the 2nd inning. I didn't care, b/c when we got home I got to dance in the driveway...just because. I made up this dance kind of like the M.C. Hammer dance for U Can't Touch This.

Despues del dia familiar me fui a casa y dormi por un buen rato. Cuando me levante fui a otro dia familiar esta vez del trabajo de mami. Colgate tubo un dia familiar antes del juego de beisbal. Alli comi hamburgesas. Aunque estuvo algo caliente me diverti mucho.

It is official Ariana is 16th months old. She has moved into the big bath tub. She is getting better at imitating sounds. She knows a lot of animal sounds. She is learning a couple sign language signals, and she is no longer laying on mommy's lap during her good night routine. She is also starting to be a little helper when it comes to putting away her toys and our tupperware containers. What a big girl!!!

I guess with growing up also comes tantrums. She has had a few episodes starting last weekend during Mass. So far they don't last too long, but she definatley lets us know what she wants.

Overall, it is a fun age. She loves to give us kisses. Sometimes she switches back and forth giving kisses to Nathan and then me. It is the best feeling.

Ariana ya tiene 16 meses y ha progresado mucho. Ya se bana en la banera grande, tambien esta imitando sonidos, se sabe los sonidos de varios animales, esta aprendiendo a comunicarse por senas, y ya no tengo que mecerla para dormir. Ariana tambien esta empezando a ayudar a guardar sus juguetes y los upperware en la cocina. Como esta creciendo.

Pero al mismo tiempo tambien esta empezando la etapa de la malcreades. Ya a tendio algunos momentos donde se pone a llorar si le damos lo que pide. El fin de semana pasado tubo un episodio durante la misa. Por suerte no duran mucho tiempo, pero definitivamente nos dice que es lo que quiere.

Esta es una etapa bien divertida. A ella le gusta darnos besos. Y a veces se turna dandonos besos a primero a Nathan y luego a mi. Es super tierno.

Almost 16 months/Casi 16 meses

I know it has been a while since I updated the blog. The last couple month have gone by so fast and Ariana is quickly becoming a little girl. She is now very confident walking and trying to run as well. Her favorite hobbies are reading books, playing with balls, and being outside. Lately, dancing has been added to the list.
Another sign of Ariana growing up are her molars coming out. She has four of them almost out. They were bothering her for a week or so. Now she is getting ready to use them.
A couple weeks ago Ariana got ear tubes. So far everything is going well and she seems to be doing fine. Her follow up appointment will be in three weeks.
That is it for now. I will try to keep in touch more often.

Ya se que ha pasado bastante tiempo sin escribir. Los ultimos meses han pasado bien rapido y Ariana se esta convirtiendo en una nina. Ella ya lleva tiempo caminando y esta empezando a correr. Le encanta leer libros, jugar con las bolas, y estar afuera. En los ultimos dias tambien ha empezado a bailar.
Dos semanas atras Ariana le pusieron tubos en sus oidos. Por ahora todo va muy bien y ella parece sentirse bien. Le toca ir a ver el doctor para asegurarse que todo esta bien en tres semanas.
Tambien le empezaron a salir las muelas. Ya tiene cuatro que estan casi completamente afuera. Le molestaron un poco al principio pero ya no. Ahora esta lista para empezar a usarlas.
Eso es todo por ahora. Tratare de escribir mas seguidos.

Easter/Pascua

Happy easter to everyone. We were able to spend Easter surrounded by family and had a great time. Although Ariana was sick part of the time we were still able to enjoy it. We got play with bubbles outside, see and touch a calf, and get Ariana's first hair cut in the same weekend. She was such a tropper and did not let the illness spoil the trip.

Felices Pascuas a todos. Pudimos pasar la semana santa rodeados de familia y la pasamos muy bien. Aunque Ariana estubo enferma parte del fin de semana lo pudo disfrutar. Mommy went to a festival in Austin, TX this weekend, so I stayed home with Daddy. I've been spoiling him b/c I have been a really good girl. We played with my stuffed animals, read books, and messed around outside. The weather was nice last weekend too, so Mommy and Daddy took me to a trail. Mommy and I liked looking at all the dogs, and Daddy taught me how to throw rocks in the creek. Here are a few pictures from this weekend and last weekend.

Yesterday we got to go outside and play on the snow for a couple of minutes before it disappeared. Mommy took me for a sled ride and I really enjoyed it. I am not sure what to think of the snow. It was different.

The other night I felt like playing with my outfit. So mommy put me in my bath robe and I was having fun with it. I said "agua" yesterday during dinner. Mommy try to get me to repeat it, but I was too shy. So now I can say "ball" and "agua". I also say "mama and dadda".

It has been a while since I actually sat down to write about what is going on. Ariana turned one last month, and she is becoming a little girl. Now she is trying to figure out everything. She is starting to immitate us.
Her last doctor appointment went really well. She is healthy and weighted 19 lbs and measured 30 inches. Soon she will be able to sit facing forward in the car seat.

She seems to be enjoying her new classroom at the daycare. She is the youngest one, but does pretty good. The teachers say that she is usually energized throughout the day. That does not surprises us, she is the same way at home.

Ya hacia tiempo que no me sentaba a escribir. Ariana cumplio un anio el mes pasado y se esta combirtiendo en toda una nina. Ella esta tratando de aprender todo. Tambien esta empezando a imitarnos.

En su ultima cita con el doctor le fue muy bien. Ella esta muy saludable y peso 19 lbs y midio 30 pulgadas. Pronto podra sentarse en el carro mirando hacia adelante.

En el day care ella parece estar divirtiendose en el nuevo salon. Ella es la mas pequena pero le esta iendo muy bien. Las maetras dicen que ella usualmente tiene mucha energia durante el dia. Eso no me sorprende porque ella es asi en la casa.

First Christmas update/Mi primera Navidad

My first Christmas was a very joyful one. On Christmas Eve we went to mass with the family. Then, we stopped by Great Grandma Price's house and had some sweets. I got to open my first Christmas present there too. I really enjoyed the unwrapping part. After that we came back home to Grandma and Grandpa Price's and had a really good Christmas Eve dinner.

On Christmas morning I took part in all the family traditions...we all came down stairs in our PJ's and opened presents. I was overwhelmed and excited to see all the presents under the tree. Most of them were for me! Mommy and Daddy helped me open them. After that I got all dressed up for Christmas lunch and played the rest of the afternoon with all my new toys. My first Christmas was a white, cold one and I really enjoyed it.

Mi primera Navidad fue muy bonita. Primero la vispera de Navidad fuimos a misa con toda la familia. Depues paramos en la casa de la bizabuela Price y comimos dulces. Alli abri mi primer regalo de Navidad. Me gusto mucho habrirlo. Despues fuimos de regreso a casa de Abuela Price y comimos una comida muy rica.

En la manana de Navidad como es tradicion todos vajamos en nuestras PJs y abrimos los regalos. Yo estaba super contenta con todos los regalos. Mi mama y mi papa me ayudaron a abrirlos. Happy Holidays to everyone. We have been enjoying a fun vacation in Panama. The past two weeks I have learned a lot of new things. First of all I am now walking everywhere. I started walking on January 4th and since then I have gotten a lot better. I also figured out how to climb places.
I have also tried all kinds of new foods and fruits here. So far I have liked everything.
On January 3rd was my baptisim. That was a very important day for me and my family. Later on I will be posting some pictures from the baptism. We will be returning home on Sunday. I guess I better get ready for the cold weather.

It has been a couple weeks since the last update. Things have been pretty busy and crazy around here. I am just starting my fourth round of antibiotics trying to fight an ear infection. The doctor referred me to the ear/nose/throat specialist. I am hoping things get better, so I don't have to get tubes. For now, we are working on me getting better for the Holidays and family vacation.
On the bright side I am starting to take steps on my own. I think I am up to 7 steps or so. I still get scared, but I love when I get to mami or daddy and they give me a big hug. I am also cutting my third tooth. Who knows how many I will have by my first birthday?
Mami made Christmas cookies and chocolate cover pretzels this week. Too bad I did not get to participate on the fun. That is it for now. I can not wait to see my grandparents and have fun during my first Christmas!

Han pasado varias semanas desde la ultima vez que me reporte. Las cosas han estado algo ocupadas y un poco locas. Estoy empezando a tomar mi cuarta ronda de antibioticos tratando de combatir una infeccion de oido. El doctor me mando a ver un Otorino para ver si me tienen que poner tubos. Yo espero estar mejor para las fiestas Navidenas y mis vacaciones a ver mis abuelitos.
En una nota mas positiva ya estoy empezando a tomar pasos solita. Yo creo que ya llego a 7 pasitos o algo asi. Todavia me da un poco de miedo, pero me encanta cuando llego donde papi y mami y ellos me dan un fuerte abrazo. Tambien me esta saliendo mi tercer diente. A ver cuanto tengo para mi cumpleanos.
Mami hizo galletas Navidenas y pretzel cubiertos de chocolate. Lo malo es que no pude participar en la diversion. Eso es todo por ahora. Ya tengo muchas ganas de ver a mis abuelitos y divertirme durante mi primera Navidad.

10 Months/10 Meses

Yesterday was my 10 month birthday. So much has happened since we last updated the blog. First, the results from the eco came back normal. So everything is Ok with my little heart thankfully. I am also feeling really good and no more ear infection for now. I have a second tooth coming out. This one is the top left tooth. So if the second bottom one does not come out fast I am going to look pretty funny.
Mommy and Daddy got me a shopping cart and I really love it. It is giving me confidence to walk around pushing it. My first thanksgiving was really good. I was such a good girl at my parent's friends' house. We missed the tradition of spending it with our family though.

This was a hard week for me and my parents. I was sick with a cold and ear infection, so I have been staying home since Wednesday. Luckily I am feeling much better now. Yesterday, Mommy took me to get my ultrasound for my heart. The tech said I was his best patient of the day. Mommy also complemented me on how good I did. We will have the results on December 5th. Today Mommy and daddy are going out to celebrate their 4 year wedding anniversary. I am staying home with one of my teachers from day care. It should be fun.

Here I come. Yes I started crawling this past Monday. Mommy and Daddy were really surprised of my accomplishment. I was going after my mommy's cell phone. I love the hot pink color and all the lights. So far I have been pretty shy about crawling. But I am getting a lot faster and more efficient. With a little bit more practice I will be everywhere.

Ariana had her 9 month Dr. appointment today. She is doing well. Her weight was a concern because she has only gained 1.2 lbs in three months. So she has a follow up appointment in 5 weeks to see if her weight gain has improved. She is a very good eater, so I believe it may be the Price gene's. He also recommended her to have a follow up ultrasound for her heart. Again he was not too concern, but he heard a murmur in her heart and he just want to double check that everything is good.

Today for Halloween she was a puppy. At first she was not too happy about her custom. After a while she forgot she had it on. Below are some of the pictures.

Ariana tuvo su la cita con el Dr. de los 9 meses. Ella esta bien. El Dr. no estaba muy contento con el peso de Ariana porque solo ha ganado 1.2 lbs en tres meses. Por eso le toca ir de nuevo en 5 semanas a ver si su aumento de peso ha mejorado. Ella come bastante bien, asi que yo creo que es el gen de los Price. El Dr. tambien recomendo que Ariana tenga un ultrasonido del corazon. El no estaba muy preocupado, pero escucho un sonido diferente en sus latido y quiere asegurarse de que todo este bien.

Hoy para Halloween Ariana se vistio de perrita puddle. Al principio no estaba muy feliz con su disfraz. Pero despues de un rato se lo olvido que lo tenia puesto. Aqui hay algunas fotos.

This past weekend I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Price. Mommy and Daddy did a 1/2 marathon. Mommy got a PR of 1 hour and 54 minutes and Daddy placed first in the old men division (30 to 35). Mommy and Daddy also went to a football game and caught up with friends. In the mean time, I got to spend quality time with Grandma and Grandpa. It was a lot of fun!!!

El fin de semana pasado fui a visitar a mis abuelos Price. Mientras estabamos alli mami y papi corrieron la 1/2 marathon. Saturday I watched part of the Cyclones game with Daddy. I wanted to be supportive of his team so I put on my best Cyclone gear and cheered for the team. It was sad to see them loose, but maybe next time I will bring them luck.

Yesterday I took a nap on my tummy. This is a first. Normally I don't like to be on my tummy, but this weekend I found out it is not that bad. Today mommy and daddy might take me shopping for my Halloween custom. Not sure what I will be yet.

Yesterday I turned 8 months. I can not believe how fast time goes. As an 8 month baby I love to babble all the time, I have my first tooth, I can stand on my own, and I love to smile.
The last couple weeks have been good. I have been chilling with mommy and daddy and enjoying the fresh fall air. This week we had a photographer take pictures of us at the day care. I did not like the photographer, so I am not sure how my pictures will turn out.

Ayer cumpli 8 meses. Y no puedo creer lo rapido que ha pasado el tiempo. Como una bebe the 8 meses me encanta hablar (blablabla) todo el tiempo, ya tengo mi primer diente, me puedo parar sola, y me encanta sonreir.
Las ultimas semanas han sido divertidas. Me la he pasado tranquila con mis papas y disfrutando el aire fresco del otono. Esta semana tomaron fotos en el day care. A mi no me gusto el fotografo asi que no se como saldran mis fotos.

I have been having so much fun. Mommy and Daddy got me this cool musical table. I love standing up (assisted) and playing with it.

This weekend mommy and daddy took me shopping for fall. I was so excited I talked the whole time. Everyone at the store was having a blast listening to me. It is almost official, my first tooth is making its way thru. You can see it and feel it. So soon it will be completely out.

Mommy and Daddy got me a new toy for the pool. First, I was not sure about it. After I got comfortable with being in the pool I loved it. This past weekend we went to celebrate Daddy's birthday and took a short family vacation. It was great to see some of mommy's friends and to meet Katherine. Unfortunatelly, I was sick and we have to cut the vacation short. Now I am home and Mommy and Daddy are taking care of me so I can get better soon.

Mi mami y papi me compraron un juguete nuevo para la piscina. Al principio estaba un poco asustada, pero cuando me senti mas comoda en la piscina me gusto mucho. El fin de semana fuimos a celebrar el cumpleanos de papai y nos fuimos en una minis vacaciones. Fue chevere conocer a algunos de los amigos de mami y conocer a katherine. Lo unico malo es que yo estaba enferma y nos tuvimos que regresar temprano. Ahora que estamos de regreso a casa mami y papi estan haciendo todo lo posible para que yo me sienta mejor.
Aqui tambien estan las fotos del cumpleanos de papi y el cake. Se veia riquisimo, lo unico malo es que no pude comerlo. Creo que me tocara esperar hasta que cumpla mi primer anio.

Today is Daddy's Birthday. We started the celebration early. We had a party at one of mommy's friends and it was so much fun. They had a water slide and a pool. Daddy seem to enjoy the water slide. I really enjoyed my first time in the pool. The weather was perfect for swimming.
Mommy and I got a cake for daddy, so later on today we will be singing him Happy Birthday. You will see the pictures later on this week.
I love to smile these days. I also enjoy playing on the floor. I am not crawling yet, but making progress towards it.

Hoy es el cumpleanos de papi. La celebracion empezo desde temprano. Ayer tuvimos una fiesta en la casa de una companera de trabajo de mami y nos divertimos mucho. Ellos tenian un surra surra y piscina. Papi se divirtio en el surra surra y yo me diverti en la piscian. El clima estaba perfecto.

Last weekend I had so much fun. It was my uncle Ben and my aunt Emina's wedding. It was really nice to see everyone.
Thank you grandma an grandpa for everything you did for me. I felt right at home, after a few hours of being there :).
I have moved on to the bigger kids class (6-12 months). 3 other of my friends moved with me. So far I am liking it. Taking naps are a little harder, but I am getting used to it.

I am six month now!!! Time goes by really quick when you are having fun. I had my Dr. appointment Friday and everything looks good. My weight was 14 lbs 12 oz. I am in somewhere between 25% and 50%. My height was 28.5 inches and there I was off the chart. The Dr. said that I must have been going thru a growth spurt or maybe I am going to be as tall as Daddy :).
The Dr. gave me the go to start trying phase 2 meals. I am looking forward to trying some new things.
Oh yes I almost forgot...they gave me a mohak at the day care. What do you think??? I am also getting ready for futball season. Go Colts!!!

Ya tengo 6 meses!!! El tiempo pasa bien rapido cuando uno se esta divirtiendo. El viernes tube la cita con el Dr. y todo esta bien. Mi peso fue de 14 libras y 12 oz. eso me pone entre el 25% y 50%. My altura fue de 28.5 pulgadas. Y esto me pone fuera de la tabla. El Dr. dice que a lo mejor estoy pasando por un periodo de crecimiento. O quiza voy a ser tan alta como papi :).
El Dr. me dio permiso para empezar a comer las comidas de la segunda etapa. Estoy con muchas ganas de probar cosas nuevas.
Ah tambien se me olvidaba decirles que en el day care me peinaron con un Mohak. Que les parece???? Tambien me estoy preparando para la temporada de Futball Americano. Que vivan los Colts!!!

What a fun week this was...I decided to play a game of hookie on Tuesday so I could stay home with Daddy. We had so much fun together. I think mommy was sad she had to miss out. Yesterday Mommy and Daddy decided to go kayaking. They took me along, and I had fun too. By the end of the afternoon I was worn out! I slept 12 hours last night. Mommy and Daddy had to wake me up for church. I tried to resist and have them let me stay, but it did not work. Oh well maybe next time. Next Tuesday I will be 6 months old. I can not wait to try all that yummy new food. I am not looking forward to my Dr. appointment on Friday. But at least Mommy is taking the day off to be with me in case I feel a little under the weather because of the shots. Isn't she great :)

Que semana mas divertida. Primero decidi hacerme la enferma para no ir a la guarderia el martes y quedarme en casa jugando con papi. Nos divertimos mucho juntos. Creo que mi mama estaba triste porque se perdio toda la diversion. Ayer mami y papi decidieron ir kayaking. Yo dicidi acompanarlos y divertirme tambien. Pero al final de la tarde yo estaba super cansada... Asi que anoche dormi por 12 horas. Me tuvieron que despertar para ir a misa. Trate de convencerlos de no ir pero no funciono. Bueno quiza la proxima vez. El Martes cumplo 6 meses. Yo estoy super contenta de poder comer nuevas cosas. No estoy esperando la cita con el Dr. el viernes con muchas ancias. Pero por lo menos mami tomo el dia libre para estar conmigo en caso de que me sienta un poquito mal por las vacunas. No es mi mama maravillosa :)

The only thing special about this week was Uncle Tyler's fly-by visit Saturday and Sunday. He wasn't here very long, but we had fun while he was here. It won't be long before I see him again for Uncle Ben and Aunt Emina's wedding. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and showing them my beautiful smile. I've been practicing in my bouncer at home, so I can show off for everyone in Grandma's bouncer this time. Mommy already bought me a dress for the wedding. I'm ready to go!

Lo unico especial de esta semana fue la visita de mi tio Tyler el Sabado y Domingo. No estuvo por mucho tiempo, pero nos divertimos mucho. As you can tell I was ready for the 4th of July. I was excited to have a long weekend with mommy and daddy.
The picture on the top shows my prune face. Mommy started feeding me some prunes and I like them, but more than that I like how I look after I am done eating them.
I am also starting to hold myself better when sitting down by myself. I hope soon I can last longer without falling down. This week I have been working on making new sounds. So I am watching mommy and daddy closely to see what I can learn.

Como pueden ver yo estaba lista para el 4 de Julio. Yo estaba muy contenta de pasar un fin de semana largo con papi y mami.
La foto de arriba es mi cara despues de comer ciruelas pasas. Si mami empezo a darme ciruelas pasas y me gusta, pero mas me gusta la cara que tengo despues de comermelas.

5 Months/5 Meses

Ariana is 5 months old today. Where has the time gone? Now-a-days everything is fair game to her. She is curious about everything in her surroundings.
Her first week of daycare went really well. It was harder on Mommy and Daddy than on Ariana. The only thing is that Ari took home a little cold with her on Friday. We know the rounds of sick kidos come with daycare, so we're hoping we can take it at a slow pace. Nothing too extreme please!

Ariana is doing well with her new food discoveries. We started fruits today. Pears were the first ones, and she liked them! First, we combined them with the rice cereal. She did not fall for that one. I guess the taste of the rice cereal was too much. This afternoon she had them by themselves and really like them.

Ariana tiene 5 mese hoy. Donde se ha ido el tiempo? Ariana le esta iendo muy bien. Ahora para Ariana todo es juego. Ella es bien curiosa y le gusta experimentar todo lo que le rodea.
En la primera semana de guarderia todo fue bastante bien. Fue mas dificil para mami y papi que para mi. Ella se adapto bastante bien para la primera semana. Por ahora estamos bastante contentos con todo.
A ella le esta iendo bastante bien con los nuevos descubrimientos de comida. Empezamos con las frutas hoy. Le dimos pera y le gusto. Al principio se la mezcle con cereal de arroz y no le gustaron. Creo que el sabor del arroz era bastante y lo sentia. Pero en la tarde se las di solas y le gustaron mucho.

Thank you Grandma Doreen for taking care of me for the last two weeks!!! Now I am a little bit older and I will be starting day care on Monday. Mommy and Grandma took me to check it out and so far I think i will like it. I will have a lot of little friends so it should be fun.
Here the summer continues and it is getting hot out there. But I still enjoy my walks every day. As far as my introduction to vegetables it is going great. So far I have tried squash, carrots, and green beans. I like all of them. Still not a big fan of my rice cereal though.

Happy Father's day!!! Today was really special day. I got to celebrate with daddy and have a lot of fun.

Here are some of my updates. I roll over again after a long time. I guess I am not very interested in rolling over. I am a lot more interested in mobility. I am not quite strong enough to crawl, but I am sure making and effort.

As far as foods, yesterday I tried squash for the first time and guess what I love it. Unlike my mom I may actually like veggies. I like squash a lot more than rice cereal.

Other than that I am enjoying the summer and having fun!!!

Feliz dia del Padre!!! Hoy ha sido un dia muy especial. Pude celebrar el dia del padre con papi y nos divertimos mucho.

Aqui estan algunos de mis avances. Me volvi a volter despues de mucho tiempo. Yo no paresco estar interesada en voltearme sino en moverme. No soy lo suficientemente fuerte para gatear todavia, pero estoy tratando.

En cuanto a comidas, ayer prove por primera vez calabaza y me gusto muchisimo. Creo que voy a ser lo contrario a mi mami y a mi si me van a gustar los vegetales. La calabaza mas que el arroz de ceral. Por ahora yo sigo disfrutando el verano!!!

Last weekend was a lot of fun. I went to visit some of Mommy and Daddy's friends. Also my parents ran a race that weekend and in the mean time Laura watched me. Thank you Laura, Hugo, and Anita for taking good care of me.

I started eating rice cereal last week. So far I like it but I am little messy. You can see a picture below. I continue to enjoy my walks with Grandma Doreen.

4 months/Cuatro Meses

I am already 4 months old :) with that comes extra responsibilities like starting to eat solids, talk more , and be more active.
My Dr appointment went really well. I did really good with the shots, I bearly cried. My weight is now 12lbs and 12 oz, so I am in the 25% percentile. My length was 24.5 in and I am in the 50%. Overall the Dr. said I am doing really well. So I am ready to start eating rice cereal and then vegetables.

La cita con el doctor estuvo muy bien. Y yo me porte muy bien cuando me puzieron las vacunas, casi ni llore. Mi peso es de 12 lb y 12 oz, y estoy en 25%. De largo medi 24.5 in y estoy en el 50%. This was another eventfull week for me. I am starting to talk (or at least I think so) back and forth. My favorite saying is "Ahhhhh", which sounds so cute. I have gotten in pretty good conversations with everyone in the house.
I am also getting ready for my 4 month appointment. As you can see in the pictures below Mommy and Daddy have giving me a little taste of fruit juice and I like sucking on strawberries. So far they are my favorite. We are hoping the Dr. will give me the go to start eating cereal. I know I am ready...
Daddy bought me a jumper this weekend. Since I liked so much at Grandma's house he decided to get me one for home. I can almost reach the floor so it is perfect for me. That is it for now I will let you know how the Dr.'s appointment goes... I hope the shots don't hurt so much :(

Esta fue otra semana llena de eventos para mi. Yo estoy empezando a hablar (bueno eso creo yo) con la gente. My frase favorita es decir "Ahhhhhh" que suena bien tierno. He tenido buenas conversaciones con todos en la casa.

Papi me compror un saltador este fin de semana. Como me gusto mucho el que tenia en casa de abuelita el decidio comprarme uno para la casa. Ya casi puedo alcanzar el suelo asi que es perfecto para mi. Eso es todo por ahora ya les contare como me fue en la cita con el Dr... Yo espero que las injecciones no duelan tanto :(

Hair or a Hat/Cabello o sombrero

The last couple of weeks I have grown so much. I have discover screaming and I like to hear myself doing it. I was able to roll over, but I can still not figure out what happen. I guess soon enough I will discover the secret.
I really love spring weather. Now that I can ride the carrier and the stroller facing forward I enjoy the rides a lot more. My mommy loves to take walks with me.
This weekend my parents decide to try what I would like with hair. You can judge for yoursel. I am a cute bold baby :)

Las ultimas semanas yo he crecido mucho. Yo he descubierto gritar y me gusta mucho escucharme a mi misma. Tambien me pude dar la vuelta, pero todavia no descubro como sucedio. Espero que pronto descubra el secreto.
Me gusta mucho la primavera. Ahora que ya puedo pasear en el cargador y en el coche mirando para el frente disfruto mucho mas los paseos. A mi mami le encanta caminar conmigo.

This week was full of celebrations. First I turned 3 months old on Tuesday. Then it was my mommy's birthday on Friday. Also my Uncle Newton, my Aunt Loraine, my cousin Isabel, and Abuelo Newton came to visit.

First we had a birthday celebration on Friday. Then we spent Saturday out enjoying the weather and nature. I was such a trooper since I hiked with mommy, daddy, and Uncle Newton for almost an hour. You can see from the pictures that I enjoyed the ride. I also had fun playing with cousin Isabel.

I am almost three months old. How exciting...since a lot of the toys say 3 month and older. This weekend I just took it easy and chill for a while at the house playing. In the afternoon my parent took me out to enjoy the weather. Although it was a little sunny for me so I had to wear that thing on my head, which by the way I am not a big fan of it yet.

I also got to try my new high chair and I like it. But the best part is that I though I was going to eat the plate in front of me. Too bad daddy just put it there for fun :(

I am over my second cold and I feel much better. The crazy weather here is hard to predict. So I got to sleep in my cozy sleeping sack the last couple of nights and I like it.

Ya tengo casi tres meses. Que chevere porque casi todos los juguetes dicen de tres meses en adelante.. Este fin de semana me la pase en la casa tranquila jugando. En la tarde mis papas me llevaron a disfrutar el clima. Aunque estaba un poco soleado para mi y tube que ponerme esa cosa en la cabeza que por cierto no me gusta mucho.

Tambien este fin de semana me sente en mi silla de comer y me gusto. Pero la mejor parte era que yo pense que iba a poder comerme el plato que tenia en frente. Pero resulta que mi papi solo lo puso alli por diversion.

Ya estoy mejor de mi sengundo resfriado y me siento mucho mejor. El clima aqui esta un poco loco y es dificil de predecir. Por eso estas ultimas noches he dormido en mi saco de dormir y me gusta mucho.

This was a very fun weekend. My parent got me some new toys for me to play with and they also took me out to enjoy the weather. Spring is definetly here and I love it!!!

Ariana is growing so fast!!! In the last week we started working on her sitting. She can hold her head pretty well and with the help of the boppy she can sit for a little bit.

Her bath time are also something she looks forward to, she seems to like the water and the interaction with us.

I am getting ready to go back to work on Tuesday and I know it will be hard. Specially now that Ariana and I have a pretty good routine. But the good news is that Grandma Aminta will be here to help for a while.

Need to say more...Yesterday the day was beautiful, so we took Ariana out and about. After all that exciment both Ariana and mommy took a power nap. Off course daddy was there to capture the moment.
By the way it has been a week and Ariana continues to sleep thru the night :). We are really bless and lucky.
Ariana has shown a lot more interest on her toys this week. Now she actually pays attention to them and sometimes she gets really excited. She is also making great progress on her tummy time. She can lift up her shoulders completely off the floor. She is also working on rolling over...But there is more work to do in that area.

Necesito decir mas...Ayer tuvimos un dia precioso, asi que llevamos a Ariana a pasear. Despues de todo el paseo las dos tomamos una siesta. Claro que alli estaba papi listo para capturar el momento.
Tambien ya Ariana lleva una semana durmiendo toda la noche:). Ha sido una bendicion y tambien hemos tenido mucha suerte.
Ariana esta mostrando mas interes en sus juguetes esta semana. Ahora ella le pone atencion a los juguetes y algunas veces se pone bien contenta. Ella tambien esta progresando mucho cuando esta en su estomago. Ella ya puede levantar completamente los hombros del piso. Dr. Appointment/Cita con el Dr.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Ariana's two month Dr. appointment went great.
She is healthy and developing really well. Her weigth was 11 lbs and her lenght was 23.5 inches. She is in the 50% of her group. So we were both really happy to know that she is doing so well.

She also got her first set of shots and that was not so much fun. It was hard for Nathan and I to see her crying so hard when she got them. Luckly, she is doing really well and did not get a fever or any bad reaction to the vaccines.

Solo queria informarle a todos que la cita de los dos mese de Ariana fue muy buena. Ella esta saludable y desarollandose muy bien. Su peso fue de 11 lb y su largo de 23.5 pulgadas. Ella esta en el 50% de su grupo. Nosotros estamos felices de saber que ella esta muy bien.

Ariana tambien le pusieron sus primeras vacunas y eso no fue tan divertido. Fue dificil para Nathan y para mi verla llorando tanto cuando se las injectaron. Por suerte, ella esta bien y no le dio ni fiebre ni ninguna reaccion alergica a las vacunas.

Ariana is two months old already!!! She is getting to enjoy thing a lot more now that she can see them better. In the last week she is enjoying her awake times a lot more. She likes to look around and play with some of her toys.

Also as part of her 2 month birthday present for her parents she slept from 10:00 PM to 6:30 Am. I could not believe it. She has been pretty good about only waking up once during the night. But sleeping 8 hours that is nice. She has done it for the past two nights.

Tomorrow we have her two month check up. She will be getting her first set of shots so will see how that goes...

Ariana keeps growing and this week she is trying to smile. We have not gotten a real smile yet, but she looks at us and you can tell she wants to. Yesterday we took her out to dinner with us and she did great. She loves being out and about in the car seat.

Today is Palm Sunday so we took her to church as every Sunday. I just couldn't resist getting pictures of her since she looks so cute.

This week Ariana has shown a lot more interest to playing with object and following sounds. She likes here catterpillar toy and looking at lights.

Did you know mommy took me to my first happy hour last Friday. It was a going away party for one of my mom co-workers and I got to meet a friend name Adriana. You will see her in some pictures below.

In the last Dr. visit I weighted 9 lbs 9 oz. I am not sure how long because I did not get measure. But I am outgrowing a lot of my cloth. I also enjoy eating out of the bottle with my daddy. It is always a good time

Esta semana Ariana has estado mas interesada en jugar con objectos y seguir sonidos. Ella le gusta mucho su oruga de peluche y ver las luces.

Saben que mi mama me llevo a mi primer happy hour el Viernes. Era una fiestas de despedida de uno de los companeros de trabajo de mi mama y alli conoci a una amiga llamada Adriana. Ya la veran en algunas de las fotos abajo.

En la ultima visita al doctor pese 9 lb y 9 oz. No estoy segura cuando mido porque no me midieron. Pero ya se me ha quedado mucha de la ropa.

Let it snow/Que siga nevando

We had a very pretty snow last night and today we had to head out to the airport to say goodbye to grandma Aminta. So I got all ready in my snow suit and there I went.

We want to thank grandma for all her help and we already miss her. Specially during the afternoon naps on her arm.

I am also doing much better during my tummy time. I am getting to enjoy looking around and holding my head for longer periods of time. Check it out he picture below!!!

Anoche tuvimos una nevada bien bonita y hoy tuvimos que ir al aeropuerto a decirle adios a abuela Aminta. Por eso yo me puse mi abrigo de nieve y alli me fui con mami
Nosotros queremos darles las gracias a abuela Aminta por todo su ayuda y decirle que ya la extranamos. Especialmente durante mis siestas en sus brazos durante las tardes.

Ariana is already a month!!! She is growing up so fast. In the last couple days she has been showing more interest in looking at objects and following noises.

She likes to lay awake on her play for short periods of time and just look around. She seems pretty content during that time.

This week has been great!!! I am almost a month old and learning a lot.

Daddy gave me my first bottle last Thursday (02/20/08). I did really well with it and since then I get to have a bottle once a day. This is a great way to spent time with Dad and give mom a break!!!

Yesterday (02/27/08) I slept through the night. Mom and dad were really excited. Would I be able to repeat it today???

Esta semana ha sido super!!! Ya casi tengo un mes y estoy aprendiendo muchisimo.

Papi me dio mi primera mamadera el jueves (02/20/08). Yo me porte bastante bien, y desde entonces me tomo una mamadera todos los dias. Esta es una forma fabulosa de pasar tiempo con mi papa y de paso le doy un descanso a mi mama!!!

Three weeks/Tres semanas

Here I am ready to go to Church. This is the third weekend I get to go and so far I have been really good.

Aqui estoy lista para ir a la misa. Esta es la tercera semana que voy y por ahora me he portado muy bien.

This week I have been getting getting more tummy time. I like it for short periods. This is time for me to play with mom and dad as well.
This week I am also starting to spend more time awake during the day.

Two weeks/Dos semanas

Ariana is already more than two weeks old. Time really flies when you are having fun... The last two weeks have been a huge learning curve for Nathan and I. Being a parent is not easy work, but as time goes by we are getting to know Ariana better.

She had her two week Dr. appointment on Tuesday and everything went really well. She is up to 8 lbs (75%) already and 21 in (75%). The Dr. was really surprised. I guess she is a really good eater.

Yesterday we were able to give Ariana her first bath after the umbilical cord came off. She was a little shock with the new idea of a bath, but she seems to be ok with it.

Ariana ya tiene mas de dos semanas. El tiempo vuela cuando uno se esta divirtiendo...En estas dos semana Nathan y yo hemos aprendido muchisimo. Se padres no es trabajo facil, pero a medida que el tiempo pasa estamos empezando a conocer a Ariana mejor.

Ella tuvo su chequeo de las dos semanas con el Dr. el Martes y por ahora todo esta muy bien. Ellas peso 8 lbs (75%) y midio 21 pulgadas (75%). El doctor estaba sorprendido. Por lo que parece Ariana es muy buena comiendo.

Ayer pudimos darle a Ariana su primer bano de tina ahora que el cordon umbilical ya se callo. Ella estaba un poco sorprendida con el nuevo banio, pero creo que le gusto.

So far all she does is eat and sleep. There are those rare moment when she stays up with her eye wide open and just sits there. Those moments are precious.

Ariana is here!!! She was born January 29th at 5:32PM. Her weight was 7 lbs 0 oz, and her length was 20 inches. Everything went really well both Ariana and myself are doing really well and are back home already.

I am posting some of the pictures from the hospital here. This one will be short and sweet. I just wanted to let everyone know the big news.

Week 38/Semana 38 Baby Shower

It is already Week 38 I still can not believe the time is almost here. We had out Dr. appointment last Friday and I am dilated to 1 cm. So I am making progress slowly but surely...

Also last week my co-workers held a baby shower for me. It was really nice. The picture on the left shows the table with all the decoration. We had a great time and Ariana got lots of presents. We are very thankful for all the people that have been there excited and waiting for Ariana's arrival.

I am still feeling really good. Ariana is very active and the Dr. said she is still growing. So far he estimates she weights around 7 lbs. So will see how close they are... In the mean time I am still walking every day and working as normal. I can not say enough how blessed I am for having a great pregnancy. No complains!!!

Ya es la semana 38 y todavia no puedo creer que ya casi se llega la hora de que Ariana venga. Nosotro tuvimos la cita con el Dr. el viernes pasado y el dice que estoy dilatada 1 cm. Asi que estoy progresando lento pero seguro...

Tambien la semana pasada mis companero de trabajo organizaron un baby shower para mi. Fue buen bonito. La foto en la izquierda tiene la mesa con toda las decoraciones. La pasamos muy bien y Ariana recibio muchos regalos. Nosotros estamos muy agradecidos por toda la gente que ha estado con nosotros durante este tiempo esperando la llegada de Ariana.

Todavia me siento muy bien gracias a Dios. Ariana todavia es bastante activa y Dr. dice que todavia esta creciendo. Por ahora el Dr. dice que ella pesa como 7 lbs. Ya veremos que tan cerca estan... Mientras tanto yo estoy caminando todos los dias y trabajando mi horario normal. No puedo dejar de darle gracias a Dios por la bendicion que ha sido mi embarazo. No me puedo quejar!!!

Week 37/Semana 37

After the new year things have been really busy. So I am a little behind keeping you all up to date. I had an appointment with the Doctor on Friday. I am starting to go every week from now until Ariana comes. The doctor said I am making great progress. The baby is 40% down and I am dilated 0.5 centimeters.

We are really excited. The bags are packed, the car seat is ready, and the house is clean...So now we are just waiting for the time to come. Grandma Aminta will be here on the 25th so we are hoping Ariana waits until then.

I am still working out. I have found a few things that are becoming more difficult to do, like getting out of bed (the belly does weigh you down). Also my hands seem to be swelling more often, but thankfully that is the only swelling I have experience so far. Other than that I am still feeling great.

Ariana started having the hiccups lately. So I get to feel those at least once a day. We will see what next week brings...

Despues del anio nuevo hemos estado bastante ocupados. Por eso he estado un poco retrasada en escribir en el blog. Tuve una cita con el doctor el viernes. De ahora en adelante me toca ir a ver el doctor toda las semanas hasta que Ariana nazca. El doctor dice que estoy progresando bastante bien. La bebe ha bajado 40% y estoy dilatada 0.5 centimetros.

Nostros estamos muy contentos esperando la llegada de la bebe. Ya empacamos las maletas, la silla del carro esta instalada y la casa limpia...Ahora solo estamos esperando por el nacimiento. Abuela Aminta llega el 25th asi que esperamos que Ariana espere hasta entonces.

Todavia estoy haciendo ejercicios. Si me he dado cuenta que hacer algunas cosas me cuestan mas. Como levantarme de la cama (la barriga pesa mucho). Tambien mis manos se han hinchado un poco de vez en cuando. Pero por ahora eso es lo unico que se ha hinchado. Por lo demas me siento muy bien.

La bebe ha empezado a tener hipo. Los puedo sentir por lo menos una ves al dia. Ya veremos que trae la proxima semana...

Happy New Year/Feliz Anio Nuevo

Happy New Year to everyone!!! As we look back into 2007, it was a wonderful year for us. We were blessed with great new friends, new jobs, and the best of all pregnancy of our first baby!!! So in 2008 we have even more to look forward to. I am now in the middle of my 35th week, and everything has been great. Our baby (Ariana) will be a much anticipated gift. Plus, when I return to work from maternity leave I will start a new position in sales. We have a lot to be excited for with many opportunities ahead.

Starting on Friday I will be going to the doctor once a week. I guess after this week it could be any day. We have been finalizing some of the last minute details for the baby's room and getting Ariana's clothes/supplies ready. It is so exciting to see the tiny outfits and imagine she will be here pretty soon...

Feliz Anio Nuevo a Todos!!! Cuando recordamos el 2007 nos damos cuenta que fue un anio maravilloso para nosotros. Fuimos bendecidos con nuevos amigos, nuevos trabajos aqui en Arkansas, y lo mejor de todo el embarazo de nuestro primer bebe. El 2008 ya promete ser aun mejor con la llegada de nuestro bebe en las proximas 5 semanas. Ya estoy en la semana 35 y por ahora todo va muy bien. Tambien en el 2008, cuando regrese a mi trabajo despues de mi maternidad, comenzare un nuevo trabajo en el area de ventas. Esta sera una nueva experiencia que traera mas oportunidades para el futuro.

Empezando el viernes estare iendo al doctor una vez por semana. Creo que despues de esta semana Ariana puede venir en cualquier momento. Mientras tanto hemos estado finalizando los ultimos detalles en el cuarto y preparando toda la ropita de Ariana. Es maravilloso ver la ropita tan chiquita e imaginar que ella estara con nosotros pronto...

It's beginning to look a lot like X-mas/ Es casi Navidad

Its beginning to look a lot like a white Christmas in Iowa. My doctor gave me the ok to make the trip to Iowa on Friday. The trip went smooth besides some dense fog. The blowing snow and freezing cold temperatures held off until yesterday (12-22-2007). It is really cold here but it looks so pretty outside. This is perfect weather to stay inside and enjoy good family time.

Ariana is still really active. She likes to play a game with her foot? Sometimes she will stretch pushing out on Mommy's stomach. Then, her Daddy or Mommy will push back at her. She will fight back with another kick/stretch. We finished our birth classes this past Monday. Our final lessons were changing diapers, giving baths, cleaning runny noses, swaddling, etc. We must have been good students, because our diploma was signed. Merry Christmas to you and your families.

Esta empezando a sentirse mas como Navidad en Iowa. El doctor me dio el OK para viajar a Iowa el viernes. El viaje estubo bastante bien, lo unico es que habia bastante neblina llegando a Iowa. La nieve y el clima super frio vino al dia siguiente. Hace mucho frio pero esta super lindo afuera. Esta es el clima perfecto para estar en casa y disfrutar del tiempo en familia.

Ariana sigue bien activa. A ella le gusta jugar con sus pies??? Algunas veces ella se estira y empuja mi estomago. Despues su papi o mami empuja el pie. Ella pelea de vuelta con otra patadita. Nosotros termnamos la clases de preparacion para el bebe el Lunes. Nuestra ultima leccion fue cambiar panales, dar banos, limpiar la nariz, arroparlos, etc. Nosotros debemos haber sido buenos estudiantes, porque nuestro diploma estaba firmado. Feliz Navidad a todos!!!

This weekend was very productive for us. We had a chance to take a short get away to Branson, MO. We saw the sites and sounds while Christmas shopping.

Sunday afternoon, Nathan put together Ariana's stroller, and we took our turn practicing. We put the carrier in and took it out of the stroller. We also practiced folding and unfolding the stroller. Time is getting closer and we want to be prepared. Next step will be to get the car seat in the car... and the fun continues.

Este fin de semana fue bastante productivo para nosotros. Tuvimos un chance de ir de paseo a Branson MO.

El domingo en la tarde, Nathan armo el coche de Ariana y tambien nos turnamos practicando como poner el cargador del bebe en el coche y como sacarlo. Tambien practicamos como cerrar el coche y como abrirlo. Ya la fecha del nacimiento se esta acercando y queremos estar prepardos. El proximo projecto sera porner la silla del carro...y la diversion continua.

Home Stretch Week 31/ Semana 31

I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I am almost a month into my third trimester and so far it has been great!!! Although, I can tell my belly is growing at a much faster pace.

So far I have not had a lot of back pain or any other problems related to a bigger belly. So I hope I can make it thru the next 9 weeks feeling as good (one can only wish).

We have been taking the birth class and they have been really good. Yesterday we got a tour of the hospital where I will be delivering and everything looks really nice. The nursery of course was the highlight of the tour. They had three new borns that were being checked out. They look adorable. On another note, Ariana has a Doctor. I actually met the Pediatrician last week and seem really friendly and professional. He was highly recommended from one of my co-workers so that also makes me feel good.

My next appointment with the Doctor will be on Monday. So more updates to come...

Todavia no puedo creer lo rapido que se ha pasado el tiempo. Ya llevo un mes en mi ultimo trimestre y por ahora todo va de maravilla!!! Aunque ahora si puedo notar que mi barriga esta creciendo mucho mas rapido.

Por ahora no he tenido problemas de dolor de espalda ni nada relacionado al peso de la barriga. Espero que siga siendo igual en las 9 semanas que me quedan (uno puede sonar).

Nathan y yo hemos estado iendo a las clases para preparanos para el parto y por ahora van bien. Ayer tambien nos dieron un tour del hospital donde vay a tener a la bebe y todo se ve muy bien. La semana pasada tambien tube cita con el futuro pediatra de Ariana. Y el se ve bien amigable y profesional. Lo mejor es que esta bien recomendado por uno de mis companeros de trabajo y eso nos hace sentir mucho mejor.

El lunes es mi proxima cita con el Doctor. Asi que pronto les tendre mas informacion....

Week 29/Semana 29

I am officially in the last trimester of my pregnancy. I can't believe time has gone so fast. I had my doctor's appointment this week and everything is on track. Ariana is growing accordingly. She is getting stronger!!! Now you can see my belly moving when she has her active periods, which are very frequent. It is amazing to feel her moving and be able to see it.
Last weekend we finished the nursery and below are some of the pictures. We just have a little more decorating to do and it will be completed.
Now we get to focus on the fun stuff... labor preparation, what do we need to bring to the hospital, and so on. We start our classes on Monday, and we are hoping to get answers to some questions. We also need to get a Doctor for Ariana. I guess the list continues.
Nathan and I keep getting more excited as the time gets closer. I'm still very active and haven't had problems. I am hoping it will continue this way down the home stretch.

Esta semana comienza mi ultimo trimestre de embarazo. Todavia no puedo creer lo rapido que le tiempo ha pasado. Esta semana tuve otra cita con el Doctor y el indico que todo marcha muy bien y que Ariana continua creciendo bien. Ella se esta poniendo mas fuerte. Ahora se puede ver cuando ella se esta moviendo porque mi barriga se mueve tambien. Es increible sentirla moviendose y poder verlo.
La semana pasada terminamos su cuarto y aqui estan algunas fotos. Ahora solo nos faltan algunas decoraciones para la pared y cuarto estart terminado.
Ahora nos toca concentrarnos en la parte diverida...prepararme para el parto, preparar lo que hay que llevar al hospital, y todo lo demas. Nosotros empezamos las clases para preparnos para el parto este Lunes. Esperamos que las clases respondan algunas de las preguntas que tenemos. Tambien nos toca econtrar un pediatra para Ariana y la lista de cosas por hacer continua.
Nathan y yo estamos super contentos y ansiosas a medida que el tiempo pasa y estamos mas cerca. Por ahora yo sigo bastante activa y no he tenido problemas. Esperemos que continue asi.

Beginning of the Nursery/Comienzo del cuarto

After a hard day at work on Ariana's nursery, Nathan decided to reward himself. The project for this week was to get the room all empty and put up the curtains. We are starting to make progress. Next project: put up the wall border. That should be fun!!!

As you can see the rocking chair has become a resting place not only for Ariana and I, but also for Nathan. We have already gotten good use out of it.

Things are going really well!!! We had a busy week after being away in New York and Iowa. So it was nice to be home for the weekend and enjoy the nice fall weather.

Despues de un largo dia de trabajo preparando el cuarto de Ariana, Nathan decidio tomar un merecido descanso. El projecto de esta semana fue sacar todas las cosas del cuarto y poner las cortinas. Estamos empezando a progresar en el cuarto. El proximo projecto sera poner el border de la pared. Sera divertido!!!

Como pueden ver la silla mecedora se ha convertido en el lugar de descanso no solo para mi y Ariana pero tambien para Nathan. Ya la estamos poniendo a bueno uso.

Todo va muy bien por ahora. Esta semana estuvimos bien ocupados despues de haber estado en Nueva York e Iowa la semana pasada. Se siente bien haber pasado un fin de semana en casa disfrutando del clima del otono.

Week 25/Semana 25 ISU

This week we took a couple days off from work and went back to Iowa for Iowa State University's homecoming. As you can see from the pictures fall colors were at its peak on campus.

My belly keeps growing and the last appointment with the doctor went really well. Ariana's heart beat was 154 BPM and everything else was on check.

This weekend we bought the crib set and nursery's border so we can start working on that sometime soon. Ariana seems to really like classical music. When I play it for her she starts moving and seem to respond to it. So far Everything is going really well.

Esta semana tomamos un par de dias libres y fuimos a Iowa para el juego de futball americano de la universidad de Nathan Iowa State. Como pueden ver en las fotos los colores del otonos estaba preciosos.

Mi barriga sigue creciendo y en la ultima cita con el doctor me fue muy bien. El corazoncito de Ariana latia a 154 BPM y todo lo demas estaba en orden.

Este fin de semana compramos las sabanas de la cuna y el borde para decorar el cuarto. Asi podremos empezar a trabajar en el cuarto pronto. Ariana parece gustarle la musica clasica. Cuando le pongo la musica empieza a moverse y parece responderle a la musica. Por ahora todo va muy bien.

Getting the nursery ready/El cuarto del bebe

The last couple weeks we have started getting the main nursery items and decoration. This weekend we chose the nursery theme and ordered the crib. The nursery theme is purple, pink, green, and ivory with butterflies. The crib is part of Bonavita's Sheffield Collection. Last weekend we bought the rocking chair and put it to the test. As you can see in the picture I am starting to get Ariana familiar with the rocking movements and classical music. Hopefully she will associated them with sleeping when she is born.

We are really excited about how everything is coming together. I have been feeling really well and Ariana continues to be very active. Nathan was able to feel her move on Thursday.

Tomorrow I have my doctor's appointment. More updates to come after the appointment.

Estas ultimas semanas hemos estado escogiendo los mubles del cuarto del bebe y la decoracion. Ya hemos escogido el tema de la decoracion del cuarto y tambien ordenamos la cuna. El tema del cuarto es violeta, rosado, verde y blanco hueso con mariposas. La cuna es parte de la coleccion de Bonavita Shieffield. El fin de semana pasado tambien compramos una silla mesedora y ya la empezamos a utilizar. Como pueden ver en la foto estoy empezando a familiriazar a Ariana con el movimiento de la mesedora y la musica clasica. A ver si ella los asocia con dormir cuando nace.

Nosotros estamos bien contengo con todo lo que hemos escogido y como se vera junto. Yo me he estado sientiendo muy bien y Ariana continua estando muy activa. Nathan la pudo sentir por primera vez el Jueves. Manana tengo mi visita al doctor. Pondre mas informacion despues de la visita.

Week 22/Semana 22 Howdy!!!

The last couple weeks have been very busy for both of us. So we decided to take a break and drive down to Dallas for a little R&R. While in town we found out that the Texas State Fair was going on, so we decided to give it a shot. I have to admit Iowa's is a lot better ;).

Ariana is quite an active girl!!! She is still on a regular schedule. I can almost predict when she will start moving. Unfortunately, Nathan has not been able to feel her move yet.

A couple weeks ago we took our first trip to Babies R' Us. It was overwhelming to learn all the things you might need to get ready for the baby. We also ended up finding a new nursery pattern that we liked much better than the Precious Moments one. I guess after knowing the baby was going to be a girl, we decided to go for more girly colors.

I am still feeling great. In fact today Nathan ran a half marathon (he finished 1st!!!) and I did a 5 K walk. It feels good to know that I still have the energy and drive to stay active. I hope it stays with me all the way.

Las ultimas semanas hemos estado bien ocupados. Por eso decidimos tomar un descanso y nos fuimos a Dallas por el fin de semana!!! Cuando estabamos alli nos enteramos que la feria de Texas (algo asi como la feria de Azuero) era ese fin de semana y decidimos ir. Pero la verdad creo que la de Azuero y la de Iowa son mucho mejor.

Ariana es bien activa. Ellas se mueve regularmente a la misma hora todos los dias. Yo casi que puedo predicir cuando se va a empezara mover. Desafortunadamente, Nathan no ha podido sentirla moviendose todavia.

Un par de semanas atras fuimos por primera vez a Baby's r us. Alli aprendimos la cantidad de cosas que se necesitan para prepararse para la llegada del bebe... que es bastante. Tambien econtramos una nueva decoracion para el cuarto de la bebe que nos gusto mucho mas que la que habiamos escogido primero. Creo que despues de saber que va a ser una nina quizimos escoger algo con colores mas femeninos.

Todavia me siento bastante bien. Es mas hoy Nathan corrio una media maraton (que termino de primero) y yo camine 5 kilometros. Se siente bien saber que todavia tengo la energia para mantenerme bastante activa. Espero que continue hasta el final del embarazo.

Week 20th/Semana 20 It is a girl!/Es una nina!

This was a big week for us. We had the ultrasound. We were lucky enough to find out we are having a girl!!! She was moving her hands and feet during the ultrasound. She seems to like sticking her tongue out. The doctor said her development was really good and that the pregnancy is going great so far.

I have gotten a lot of questions about the name. We had the name picked out before the ultrasound. In fact we had a name for a boy or a girl. Her name is Ariana Ali Price.

I am getting to feel her movements on a more regular basis. It is great. I love to feel her moving while I am at work. It makes my day to know she is there with me. I haven't really been tired or distracted at work. The complete opposite, I feel I have more drive than ever. It may sound crazy, but I guess I am just so happy that nothing bothers me.

Esta ha sido una semana muy especial para nosotros. Esta semana me hicieron el ultrasonido y tuvimos la suerte de saber que vamos a tener una nina!!! Ella estaba moviendo las manos y los pies durante el ultrasonido. Tambien le gustaba sacar la lengua como si estuviera saboriando algo. El doctor dice que su desarollo es normal y que todo va muy bien con el embarazo por ahora.

Muchos me han preguntado por el nombre. Nosotros teniamos escogido el nombre antes del ultrasonido. En realidad teniamos un nombre para nino y otro para nina. Su nombre es Ariana Ali price.

Ahora estoy sintiendo los movimientos del bebe regularmente. Es super lindo. Me encanta sentirla moviendose especialmente cuando estoy en el trabajo. Hace que el dia sea mas especial porque se que ella esta alli conmigo. No he estado ni cansada ni distraida en el trabajo. Todo lo contrario, me siento con mas energia que nunca. Puede que suene un poco diferente pero estoy tan feliz que nada me molesta.

Week 19/Semana 19

This week we looked for nursery ideas and decorations. In our first try we found the exact border we were looking for. The border and wall stickers are a Precious Moments theme. Since we are not sure what the baby's gender will be yet, we will have to wait a little longer to start the actual nursery. We are still debating whether or not to paint the nursery... I guess we have some time to make the decision.

This week I have also tried to pay attention to any baby movements. I am not sure if what I feel is the baby moving or just my imagination. They are very quick and feel like butterflies in my stomach. Hopefully soon I will be able to tell if it is in fact the baby moving or just my imagination.

Esta semana empezamos a buscar ideas para decoraciones del cuarto del bebe. En el primer lugar que visitamos encontramos justo lo que estabamos buscando. Compramos un borde y unas calcomanias de la coleccion de "Precious Moments" para decorar la pared. Pero como todavia no estamos seguros del sexo del bebe, vamos a espara mas tiempo para empezar a decorar el cuarto. Todavia no estamos seguros si vamos a pintar la pared o no... Ya tendremos tiempo para tomar esa decision mas adelante.

Esta semana he estado tratando de poner atencion a los movimientos del bebe. Pero todavia no estoy segura si lo que he sentido son los movimientos del bebe o mi imaginacion. Son bien rapidos y se siente como mariposas en el estomago. Espero que pronto pueda saber si de verdad son los movimientos del bebe o solo mi imaginacion.

Week 18/Semana 18

The last couple weeks have been great!!! I am back to my normal level of energy and really excited about getting to know the baby's gender in two weeks.
As you can see from the picture we decided to take another opportunity to practice. This time we fed a real baby instead of each other. It is easier said than done. Between Nathan and I, we only got half of his food in his mouth. Did anyone mention baby's get distracted when you are trying to feed them??? We passed on a couple opportunities to practice changing diapers. We decided to learn that skill on the run. ;)
So far I have been feeling really good. My belly keeps growing a little at a time. It is still hard for people that don't know me to tell I am pregnant. I am sure that won't be the case in the next couple of weeks.
One frequent question I get is about cravings. Well so far I haven't had any. They said it will happen!!!

Las ultimas dos semanas las he pasado muy bien. Mi energia esta de vuelta totalmente y estoy con muchas ganas de saber cual va a ser el sexo del bebe en las proximas dos semanas.
Como pueden ver por las fotos nosotros decidimos tomar otra oportunidad para practicar. Esta vez la practica fue dandole la comida a un bebe de verdad y no a nosotros mismos. Es mas facil ver a otros cuando lo hacen que cuando tu lo haces. Entre Nathan y yo solo pudimos darle la mitad de la comida al bebe. Quien diria que los bebes se distraen tanto cuando uno esta tratando de darles comida. Pero en general fue una buena experiencia. Todavia nos queda una practica mas que hacer y es cambiando panales. Pero por ahora hemos decidido que esa la aprenderemos cuando venga el bebe ;)
Por ahora me he estado sintiendo muy bien. Mi barriga sigue creciendo poquito a poquito. Aunque todavia es dificil para la gente que no me conoce darse cuenta que estoy embarazada. Estoy segura que eso cambiara en las proximas semanas.
Mucha gente me a preguntado si he tenido antojos. Pues la verdad por ahora no he tenido ningun antojo. Por alli me dicen que ya vendran!!!

Week 16/Semana 16

This week started with our third Dr.'s appointment. This time we heard the heart beat. The Dr. said it was approximately 160 bpm. He was glad to hear the strong , steady heart beat. Sometimes babies' heart beats can be irregular at this stage. I have been getting my energy back although I get dizzy sometimes (mainly on Sunday's at church). I am still working out on a regular basis and the Dr. was happy with my weight gain so far. I have gained 1 lb since my first appointment.

Nathan and I had a busy week touring two day care centers. Who would have known that the wait list are between nine months and twelve months. We put our baby on the wait list for both of them. So we have options. Nathan compared the cost of day care to owning a $40,000 to $50,000 car. My reaction was to answer that is why some people choose not to have kids. We both agree kids are a better option anyway.

September 17th is our next Dr.'s appointment. It should be exciting since we get to have the big ultrasound. We should be able to find out the gender.

Esta semana comenzo con la tercera cita con el Dr. Esta vez si pudimos escuchar los latidos del corazon del bebe. El doctor dijo que eran aproximadamente 160 latidos por minuto. El estaba contento de escuchar que los latidos del bebe eran fuertes y regularers. El dice que en esta etapa algunos bebes tienen latidos irregulares. Yo he estado recuperando mi energia y todavia sigo haciendo ejercicios regularmente. El Dr. estaba contento con el peso que he ganado. Por ahora solo he ganado 1 libra desde nuestra primera cita.

Nathan y yo tuvimos una semana bastante ocupada visitando guarderias para el bebe. Quien diria que aqui las guarderias tienen lista de espera de nueve meses a un anio. Nosotros pusimos nuestro bebe en la lista de espera para los dos. Asi tendremos mas opciones. Nathan comparo el costo de la guarderia al pago de un carro de $40,000 a $50,000. Mi respuesta fue que por eso ha personas que deciden no tener ninos. Pero para nosotros tener ninos es una mejor opcion.

La proxima visita al Dr. sera el 17 de Septiembre. Alli tendremos el ultrasonido que nos dira que sexo es el bebe.

Week 14 Practice time/Semana 14 tiempo de empezar a practicar

So this weekend we had an opportunity to test our skills as parents first hand.

I believe we passed the test... As you can see Nathan is feeling more comfortable holding a baby, and they seem to like him.

Ah...what about feeding them? Well, we tested that too! No spills and everything went into the mouth. Another successful test. We hope its this easy! *************************************************
Este fin de semana tuvimos la oportunidad de practicar cargando a un bebe. Yo creo que pasamos la prueba.... Nathan se siente mas comodo cargando a el bebe y creo que el bebe se sentia comodo con el.

Ah bueno tambien decidimos practicar como darle de comer al bebe. No deramamos la comida y to fue a la boca. Otra prueba superada. Si solo fuera tan facil. So podemos esperar que sea asi.

Week 12/Semana 12

I am on the last week of my first trimester!!! So far so good. I am actually excited to start the second trimester as every book I have read say it is the best. We'll see if it holds true.

Ok, finally I was brave enough to take a picture of my belly. So far you can not really tell I am pregnant when I have regular clothes on, but from this picture you can start seeing the changes. I am still able to wear most of my regular clothes. Not sure for how much longer. I can already tell it is getting tighter and more uncomfotable. I guess soon it will be time to go maternity clothes shopping!!!!

Estoy en la ultima semana del primer trimestre!!! Por ahora todo ha ido de maravilla. Estoy emocionada de empezar el segundo trimeste porque todos los libros dicen que es el mejor. Ya veremos si es verdad.

Finalmente me he tomado una foto de la barriga. Por ahora no se nota que estoy embarazada cuando estoy vestida normal. Pero por esta foto ya se pueden empezar a ver los cambios del embarazo. Todavia me queda mi ropa normal aunque ya esta empezando a ser un poquito incomoda. Creo que pronto sera tiempo de comprar ropa de marternidad!!!!

Week 11/ Semana 11 Baby's heart beat/El latido del corazon del bebe

Today we had our 11 week doctor appointment. We were lucky enough to actually see our little baby and his/her heart beating. The baby was very active in there, but its too little for me to feel the movements. The doctor said its between 4.5 and 5 centimeters tall at this point.

I have attached some of the pictures we got from the Ultra sound. The top one is a face shot and the bottom one is a shot of the spinal cord. It is still amazing for me to know that I have a life inside of me. Nathan was really excited as well. He thinks its a marathon runner. With all the movement it looks like it will be taking after him not wanting to stand still...

Hoy tuvimos la cita con el doctor por la onceava semana. Tuvimos mucha suerte porque pudimos ver a nuestro bebe y como ver como latia su corazoncito. El bebe estaba bien activo, pero todavia nos esta lo suficientemente grande para yo sentirlo. La doctora dice que el bebe mide entre 4.5 y 5 centimetros.

Aqui estan las fotos de nuestro primer ultrasonido. La foto the arriva es de la carita del bebe y la de abajo es de la columna vertebral. Todavia me parece increible que este creciendo dentro de mi una nueva vida. Nathan estaba super contento. El piensa que va a ser un futuro corredor the maratones. Por los movimientos del bebe pareciera que saliera a el que no se puede esta quieto.

Week 9/Semana 9

This is our 9th week of pregnancy. The baby is just the size of an olive. Morning sickness is almost gone. I have more energy in general. I am still not showing.

We had our first doctor appointment last week. They just did some routine tests and talked to us about everything that is involve in a pregnancy. It was kind of disappointing. We thought setting a due date would be some sort of rocket science, but we were wrong. A little cardboard wheel told us the news. Kind of like a Magic Eight Ball.

Esta semana estamos en nuestra 9 semana de embarazo. El bebe es del tamano de una aceituna. Esta semana las nauceas ya no son tan seguidas y me estoy sintiendo con mas energia.

Todavia no se me nota el embarazo.

Tuvimos nuestra primera cita con el doctor la semana pasada. En esta cita solo hicieron examenes de rutina y hablaron con nosotros de todo lo que tenemos que considerar en un Embarazo. Nosotros pensabamos que determinar el dia del nacimiento del bebe era un proceso complicado y mas cientifico. Pero la verdad la enfermera solo uso una tabla que asignaba el dia del nacimiento de acuerdo al ultimo dia de mi periodo. Nathan dice que era como jugando Bingo.
